With only a couple of glitches in ticketing (that were thankfully easily rectified), and only one lost bag (Sabina's....but it was delivered to our hotel this afternoon), we all arrived safely in Munich. Well, I should say most of us have arrived: Marianna arrives with her family from Brazil tomorrow and will meet us at the Tanzsommer Tour buses in the morning. We are all so excited to see her since it has been a year since she was a foreign exchange student attending Grants Pass High School, living with the Smith's and dancing with us at the studio...needless to say, we've missed her and can't wait to have her rejoin us in "America" on stage again!
It rained today. The gloomy weather was appropriate for the tour many of us took of the Dachau Concentration Camp. We will never forget what we saw and the impact it had on us regarding the horrific history and facts surrounding WWII.
We are feeling the effects of jet lag after a long day and plan to get to bed early, after a quick trip to the golden arches-German style! It's nearly 10pm here now, but it's still light out..yet it doesn't to be keeping anyone from yawning and blinking very slowly....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Tomorrow is the first official day of the Tanzsommer Tour...the day has finally arrived!
I'm so thrilled for your experience. I skyped with Mariana the day before she left. She was very excited to see you all! I can't wait to see pictures of your first official day. Hope Gabi is getting better. Thanks for taking care of her! Dana Smith
